BORDURIA, 3 Jul: The grand premiere of Nocte Idol Season-1 was held with great enthusiasm at the Towang Lowangdong auditorium here in Tirap district on Thursday.

A total of 16 shortlisted contestants delivered remarkable performances during the grand premiere, captivating the audience with their exceptional vocal talent and setting a promising tone for Nocte Idol Season-1.

In her address at the inaugural ceremony, chairperson of Nocte Idol Season-1, Chasuam Wangchadong, said that Nocte Idol is not merely a singing competition but a platform to foster unity and bring people together, as music is a universal language that transcends boundaries.

Addressing the gathering, Tirap ZPC John KK Matey, Dadam ZPM Chasom Hakhun, WRGC Principal Dr Watsen Bangsia, and retired DC Techu Aran lauded the Nocte Idol Organising Committee for conceptualising and successfully organising the first-ever Nocte Idol competition.

They described the initiative as a historic milestone for the Nocte community, providing a prestigious platform for young and aspiring singers to showcase their hidden talents while promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Nocte people.

The dignitaries also encouraged all contestants to perform with confidence, uphold the spirit of healthy competition, and continue pursuing their passion by aiming for higher platforms such as Arunachal Idol and Indian Idol.

The programme was enlivened by colourful cultural performances, including the rendition of Rangsoam Sey (the Nocte anthem) and traditional Nocte dances.

ZPMs Necha Wangsu, Tumwang Lowang, Yalik Lowang, Wanglem Thingnok and Wanglee Rangyang, Tirap SP Aditya, chief of Namsang Sunwang Lowangdong, Chango Lowang, Tirap BJP unit president Lankham Wangsu, retired DD (IPR) Denhang Bosai, former ZPC Lorang Loham, senior citizens of the Nocte community, and panel judges Mili Singh Lowang and Toangi Agi, among others, attended the programme.
