ITANAGAR, 1 Jun: A three-day Level-6 and Level-7 referee upgradation course and examination commenced at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadiumin Yupia on Monday to enhance the technical knowledge, physical fitness, and officiating standards of football referees in the state.
The course will cover theoretical classroom sessions, fitness assessments, discussions on the laws of the game, practical on-field training sessions, and examinations for referee upgradation, the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) said in a release.
Thirty-seven referee candidates from across Arunachal are attending it.
The course is being conducted under the guidance of All India Football Federation (AIFF) instructor Naveen J Sundi-Jha and IFA instructor-cum-AIFF educator Ajit Dutta, the release said.
The APFA’s head of refereeing, Tana Sunny, is serving as the course coordinator.
The programme is being organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Football Referees Committee of the APFA,under the aegis of the AIFF.
