DOIMUKH, 31 Oct: Reaffirming its commitment to the ideals of national unity, integrity and collective strength, the state-level coordinator of the Oil Industry for Arunachal Pradesh organised a 'Run for Unity' to mark the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) here on Saturday.

The occasion commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose visionary leadership played an instrumental role in integrating the princely states into the Indian union.

Deputy general manager (operations) of the Doimukh depot, Sonan Phuchu Khrimey, flagged off the run from the premises of the Doimukh depot, in the presence of students, employees, contractual labourers, security personnel and other stakeholders.

Prior to the flag-off ceremony, all the participants took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge, renewing their commitment to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation.

Reflecting the spirit of this year's observance, the initiative also served as a tribute to the bravehearts who tirelessly safeguard the nation's unity and security, said a release.
