TEZU, 15 Sep: A two-day orientation training programme on reading aloud ended at the Bamboosa Library here in Lohit district.

It was led by two eminent teacher educators from Puducherry, Nabanita Deshmukh and BappuDeshmukh.

The workshop was a continuation of previous years' programme called Reading Aloud Session for All (RASA). The workshop was held from 12-13 September, and was jointly conducted by Bamboosa Library and Medo-based Forum of Library Activists, in collaboration with Denning College for Teacher Education, Tezu.

Principal of Denning College for Education and Training, Dr Rajesh Kumar, emphasised the importance of learning and teaching methods while encouraging the participants to imbibe the learned methods "enthusiastically."

The objective of the workshop was to teach how students can enjoy the process of learning through effective reading. The resource persons further highlighted the importance of reading aloud. The active and energetic participation of teachers and BEd trainees made the session more engaging and meaningful.

A participant of the workshop, Jonali Morang, teacher at Nimkey Vidya Niketan, Tezu, showed her eagerness to implement the teaching tactics in the classroom. Another participant, Enumey Mimi (BEd trainee), said that this was her first time attending such a workshop and she found it interesting and helpful to pursue her teaching career.

Volunteer Nishanlu Kri said that the teaching method she learned during the workshop "is not confined to teaching alone but is also useful for other activities that involve an audience, especially children."

The workshop ended with a poem recitation and display of children's books authored by resource person Nabanita Deshmukh.

RASA was coordinated by staffers of Denning College, Siwani Pul and Zeta Michichi.
