ITANAGAR, 29 Jun: Informing that the academic performance and overall functioning of several government schools in Kra Daadi district have been adversely affected following the absence of regular, competent, and dedicated principals and headmasters, Kra Daadi Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Tagru Kasha has appealed to the education minister to initiate urgent steps to ensure early posting or transfer regular principals and headmasters to the district’s schools.
In a representation to the education minister, the ZPC said, “It has been observed that the present administrative arrangements in the following schools are not functioning effectively, resulting in poor academic supervision, lack of administrative accountability, and hampering the overall development of the institutions, which include Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Palin and Government Secondary Schools (GSS) of Tali, Yangte, Chambang, Gangte and Rai Balo.”
“The role of a principal or headmaster is crucial in ensuring effective school administration, maintaining academic standards, supervising teachers, implementing government educational programmes, and creating a conducive learning environment for students. Unfortunately, due to irregular administration and ineffective leadership in the abovementioned institutions, the academic performance and overall functioning of these schools have been adversely affected.
“The students, teachers, parents, and local communities are facing difficulties due to the absence of efficient school leadership. Timely implementation of educational policies, monitoring of staff attendance, maintenance of discipline, and execution of developmental activities have become challenging,” the ZPC added.
