YAZALI, 9 Jul: Members of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU), led by its president Meje Taku and general secretary Mato Bui, along with its executive members and district students’ unions from all 28 districts visited the cloudburst-affected areas of Possa and NEEPCO Colony here in Keyi Panyor district to express solidarity with the victims.
During the relief outreach programme, the AAPSU provided relief assistance worth over Rs 25 lakh, including cash assistance and essential relief materials such as food items, vegetables, clothing, drinking water, and other daily necessities.
As part of the financial assistance Rs 1,00,000 was provided to each bereaved family who lost a loved one, Rs 70,000 was provided to each family whose house was completely destroyed, and R s 50,000 was provided to each affected family.
Speaking on the occasion, Taku assured that the union would continue to stand by the affected families, and appealed to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to extend further support for relief, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery of the victims.
