YINGKIONG, 1 Jun: The Upper Siang district administration mourned the demise of SDO Toni Mitkong, who passed away on 30 May at his Pasighat residence after a prolonged illness.

During a condolence meeting on Monday, the staff of the district administration observed a two-minute silence in memory of late Mitkong.

Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang said Mitkong was a sincere, punctual and dedicated officer, whose service would always be remembered.

“Mitkong’s commitment, integrity and devotion to duty earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and the public alike. His legacy of selfless service and professionalism will continue to inspire future generations of APCS officers and government employees,” the DC said.

He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.

Mitkong was born in Dalbing village in Mariyang, Upper Siang district in 1967. He joined government service as a junior teacher in 1995 and later entered the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (Entry Grade) in 2007.

During his career spanning over 30 years, he served in various capacities across the state. In recognition of his dedicated service, he was promoted to APCS senior grade in 2017, and later to APCS selection grade in 2025.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and two sons. (DIPRO)
