BOMDILA, 16 Jun: West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar urged all departments concerned to make “sincere, coordinated, and result-oriented efforts” in preparing project proposals, strictly in conformity with the objectives and operational guidelines of the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP)-II.
He emphasised the importance of prior confirmation of land availability and completion of all necessary documentation to prevent avoidable implementation bottlenecks at later stages.
The DC was addressing government officials at a meeting of the District Level Committee on the VVP-II here on Tuesday to scrutinise and deliberate upon the project proposals received from Dirang and Kalaktang subdivisions.
The DC said that the proposed interventions should be designed “not only to create essential infrastructure and public amenities but also to strengthen community participation and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for residents of border villages.”
Kumar underscored that targeted developmental initiatives would contribute significantly towards reducing outward migration from border areas and encouraging reverse migration, thereby strengthening the socioeconomic vitality and long-term sustainability of the strategically important villages.
District Planning Officer Henmar Taipodia delivered a comprehensive presentation on the status of ongoing projects and the proposed interventions under VVP-II.
Attending the meeting, the heads of departments offered suggestions and sector-specific inputs for effective formulation, prioritisation, and convergence of the proposed projects.
Additional deputy commissioners, block development officers, and officers from Dirang and Kalaktang, along with others senior officers attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
