ROING, 29 May: Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma emphasised the need to improve telecom connectivity in locations with educational institution in the district.
Chairing a District Level Telecommunication Monitoring Committee meeting here on Friday, the DC also stressed on the importance of effective coordination among all departments and service providers.
Further, the deputy commissioner requested all excavating agencies and contractors to mandatorily use the ‘CBuD application’ before undertaking any digging or excavation work in the district.
The meeting, organised by the IT&C Department, was attended by officials of various departments, including PWD, PHED, Power, UD, RWD, Forest, NIC, BSNL and other telecom service providers, who discussed the importance, implementation and usage of the CBuD application and various telecom-related issues in the district.
DITO Minam Apum delivered a presentation highlighting the key features and benefits of the platform. The CBuD application enables departments and agencies, especially excavating agencies and contractors, to enquire about and verify underlying telecom and utility assets before carrying out excavation works. This helps prevent damage to underground infrastructure and ensures better coordination among stakeholders.
The meeting also discussed telecom connectivity issues and network improvement measures across the district. (DIPRO)
