NAMSAI, 11 Jun: The progress of the Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) in Namsai district was reviewed during a District Task Force for Immunisation meeting chaired by Namsai Deputy Commissioner CR Khampa here on Wednesday.

The members also discussed measures to strengthen routine immunisation coverage, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. Emphasis was laid on ensuring complete vaccination of eligible beneficiaries and enhancing awareness among the public regarding the importance of immunisation.

The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC&PNDT) Act and discussed the status and performance of the 108 ambulance service in the district.

The stakeholders deliberated on strategies for effective enforcement of the Act and improving emergency healthcare response services.

Lower Lekang Zilla Parishad Member Hironya Deori, District Medical Officer Dr Sulanti Namchoom, District Reproductive and Child Health Officer Dr Tope Yomcha, and heads of various departments attended the meeting and shared their inputs for strengthening healthcare delivery and immunisation services in the district.

The deputy commissioner called for coordinated efforts among all departments concerned to achieve the district’s health and immunisation targets and ensure better healthcare services for the people.(DIPR)
