ITANAGAR, 31 Jul: The Guwahati (Assam)-based UIDAI regional office (RO), in coordination with the Arunachal Pradesh Economics and StatisticsDepartment and CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, is conducting school-wise mandatory biometric update (MBU) camps across the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) to cover the students who have not yet completed MBU in Aadhaar.

MBU camps have already been conducted at PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School Arunodaya and at Indira Academy, while a camp is underway at Holy Cross School (31 July to 1 Aug), and camps will also be held at Nichiphu Children’s Foundation School (3 August), and Vivekananda Central School (5 August).

As per UIDAI guidelines, MBU is required twice during a child’s lifetime – once upon attaining the age of 5 years, and again at the age of 15 years. Timely biometric updates are essential to avoid suspension of Aadhaar and to ensure uninterrupted access to services that require Aadhaar authentication.

An Aadhaar with updated biometrics enables seamless access to essential services such as school admissions, registration for entrance examinations, scholarships, and direct benefit transfer schemes, wherever applicable.

Such camps at the school level will be conducted across all districts of Arunachal, the RO informed in a release.
