TALIHA, 17 Jun: Lable ZPM in Upper Subansiri district, Tadam Haging Cherom, on Wednesday encouraged villagers to take up agriculture and horticulture activities.
Addressing the villagers at a one-day Jan Kalyan Shivir here, the ZPM urged the people to become self-reliant by utilizing government schemes effectively. He also appealed to parents to enroll their children in government schools and residential institutions available in rural areas.
During the programme, government officials from various departments, along with representatives from SBI and Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank branches, informed the participants about the benefits and opportunities available under different government schemes.
Dr. Molar Bui highlighted the benefits of horticulture-related schemes and encouraged people to explore the horticulture sector for livelihood opportunities.
The Jan Kalyan Shivir was organized by the BJP Taliha Mandal unit to create awareness about various welfare schemes of the central and state governments.
District BJP president Tama Nirin, vice president Tabit Mosu, BJP mandal president Taju Jami, panchayat leaders, and villagers from different areas attended the programme.
